Job Overview:

The Assistant Merchandising Manager - Taxonomy & Kids is responsible for achieving customer satisfaction by analyzing and auditing content on the web site, and conducting merchandising approvals and tagging of product pages. The primary objective is to improve the foundation of the website’s attribution, and product data to optimize the customer’s discovery and selection of products. The Assistant Merchandise Manager will collaborate with internal and external partners to improve conversion and achieve sales goals. This will be done by utilizing strategy, data analytics, and experimentation tools. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Main focus is to execute on merchandise approvals for new and existing pages going live on This assistant will be focused on the Apparel areas.
  • Site analysis and audit:  Alignment of data across all customer touch points and devices, Establish best practices across competitive landscape; Facet and browse optimization, Attribution quick wins.
  • Product Detail Page Optimization, Size & Fit Information, Page layout, Images.
  • Assist in optimization of on-site search.
  • Data Analysis: Work with business intelligence to understand and develop comprehensive strategies for site audit.
  • Partner and present with internal (DBS, DBE, BI/Relevancy, Event) and external teams (SEO, UX, Digital Merchants, Customer Experience, Copy) on set up and execution of strategies.
  • Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.

Decision Making: 

  • Participates in the decision-making process; provides recommendations on site strategy.



  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or 3 years online merchandising experience.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and analytical skills.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Demands:

  • This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking.
  • May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
  • May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and viewing computer monitor for extended periods of time.
  • Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
  • May involve moving or lifting items under 10 pounds.

Other Skills:

  • Must be able to work effectively on a team and with various parts of the organization, and have a sense of urgency to react to business needs. 
  • Must be self-motivated.

Work Hours:

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
